Sarkar Box Office Collection: Controversies have failed to stop the triumphant march of Thalapathy Vijay starrer political drama, Sarkar. The movie has so far collected Rs 247 crore worldwide and has now set its eye on the Rs 250 crore mark. The AR Murugadoss direction has already shattered many box office records straight from opening day and it shows that Vijay knows exactly what will appeal to his fans and gives it to them in exactly that manner.

Sarkar collection soared to Rs 70 crore on day 1 worldwide with Rs 31 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. The film is still going strong and has not shown any sign of weakness yet.

"Now eyeing 250cr globally & still very strong at the BO," said film critic and trade analyst Girish Johar.

Another analyst Sumit Kadel said that the film has earned Rs 247 crore till Monday.

"#Sarkar WORLDWIDE GROSS till date is Rs 247 cr. Another BLOCKBUSTER from #ThalapathyVijay," said Kadel.

As per reports, the film has earned Rs 176 crore in India including all languages and has grossed Rs 71 crore overseas taking its total collection at Rs 247 crore.

Sarkar movie has been doing good to moderate business since its release on November 6. The film was released on Tuesday, breaking away from the tradition of releasing a movie on Thursday or Friday.

Sarkar film is a story of an NRI (Vijay) who comes to India from the US to cast his vote. However, he decides to take on the political might of the corrupts as soon as he learns that his vote has been cast by someone else. The film has also faced flak from politicians overs a scene which showed throwing away of appliances given to people by the Tamil Nadu government.
