Sarkar Box Office Collection: Thalapathy Vijay has not only broken his own record of Mersal with his new movie, but even went on to shatter many others. Sarkar collection has reportedly zoomed past the Rs 100 crore mark in just in two days. Breaking down Sarkar collection into segments shows that this Vijay movie has earned Rs 47 crore in India alone on day 1 and has grossed around Rs 70 crore worldwide. Sarkar collection by day 2 has rocketted to Rs 110 cr!

Expectations are that Sarkar will break many more box office collection records in its lifetime despite all the controversies that have hit the movie.

Directed by A R Murugadoss, the film has set box offices on fire right from day 1! However, Sarkar film has witnessed a slight dip on day 3 due to the objections raised from some political quarters. Sarkar collection jumped to Rs 9 crore in Karnataka alone in just two days.

The dip in Sarkar collection was even visible in Kerala as the film's earning dropped to Rs 1.28 crore on day 3 from Rs 6.6 crore on day 1 and Rs 1.5 crore on day 2, reported entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala. 

On the other hand, Sarkar film has maintained its impressive show overseas. "Sarkar opens to SUPERB footfalls in #France... The #Tamil biggie opened on Monday [working day], yet the admissions are higher than most #Hollywood / #European films in #France...Mon - 2149, Tue - 3854, Total: 6003 admissions. Note: #France reports Admissions, not Gross BO," reported film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Sarkar collection has been hit by a controversy after its release and, in what is a big setback for Thalapathy Vijay and the filmmakers, the film is reportedly being sent back to the Censor board for further cuts! It remains to be seen whether Sarkar collection will recover from this massive shock to the system! In Tamil Nadu, some senior leaders have objected to some scenes of the movie. According to reports, the word 'KomalaValli' will be muted out and scenes showing throwing of Tamil Nadu government's free home appliances in the fire will be removed too.

Sarkar is a political drama which shows the corrupt practices that politicians adhere to grab the power. The issue raised has grabbed the imagination of Thalapathy Vijay fans and the wider movie-going public, but for now Sarkar collection will suffer.
