Sanju box office collection: Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju movie that stars Ranbir Kapoor is continuing with its good run even after 3 weeks of its release. By Saturday the film has managed to collect as much as Rs 300.55 crore.  The biopic based on Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt starring Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala and Vicky Kaushal, had begun with a bang and continued to gather steam through the first two weeks and until the third Saturday (July 14). This is making film trade analysts react and most expect the film to earn much more, and even break all kinds of records, except the most important ones.

Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju is now all-time No. 6 Hindi movie in India, according to Ramesh Bala. Behind Baahubali 2, Dangal, PK, TigerZindaHai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and then comes Sanju. However, Sanju is unlikely to match the final tally of Dangal and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The reason behind it is that Dangal had the holiday advantage, which Sanju does not have. SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, which was released in 2017, has been the highest grosser Bollywood film so far.

The Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal released on December 23, 2016, and went on to collect almost continuously till January 26, 2017, when Kaabil and Raees broke its run.  Sanju collected Rs. 200 crore in the first week, whereas Dangal collected Rs 192 crore. However, in the second week, Sanju lost its advantage. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer film collected only Rs. 89.75 crore in its second week whereas Dangal had collected Rs 108 crore.

This was because there was Christmas and New Year vacations across the globe then and no holiday now.
Sanju has been hurt by the fact that yesterday was a big sporting match day. Not only was the World Cup 2018 final on, there was also the Wimbledon final and even PV Sindhu was playing! On Saturday, there was the India-England ODI match. Now that all of these are over, Sanju collection is expected to increase again.
