Sanju box office collection: Ranbir Kapoor starrer movie opened at the box office with a bang. But the year 2018 started with the release of Padmaavat, storming the box office. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film made buzz at the box office despite opposition from various groups. As the year reaches its halfway mark, Sanju tops the chart and is followed by Padmaavat and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, according to Bollywood Hungama.
 
The year 2018 has so far been a good year for the film industry, as most of the movies have done good business at the box office. In the first half of 2018, seven films have achieved Rs 100-crore mark, while Sanju and Padmaavat have crossed Rs 300-cr mark.
 
Rajkumar Hirani directed Sanju has broken most of the records in the first half of 2018. The movie has become the highest grosser of the year and the fastest one to enter the Rs 200 and Rs 300-cr club. Sanju has dominated the domestic box office records, while the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat stands at second position. However, the Padmaavat broke most of the overseas business records.
 
Notably, Luv Ranjan directorial Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety emerged as the sleeper hit of the year.  Sanju is a star-studded film, featuring actors like Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Sanju's father; Vicky Kaushal as Kamlesh Kamli Kanhaiyalal Kapasi; Manisha Koirala as Nargis, Sanju's mother; Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt, Sanju's wife; Sonam Kapoor as Ruby, Sanju's girlfriend and Anushka Sharma as Winnie Dias, a biographer.
 
The film earned Rs 200 crore in the first week, surpassing lifetime business of 3 Idiots (202.47 crore). On the first day, it earned Rs 34.75 crore, Rs 38.60 crore on the second day, Rs 46.71 crore, on third day, grossing total Rs 202.51 crore in India business in 7 days.
 
On the other hand, Padmaavat casts actors like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor.
