Sanju box office collection: This Ranbir Kapoor starrer based on the life and times of another Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, who is himself the son of the legendary actor Sunil Dutt, has got off to a flying start at the BO. Sanju was released in cinemas today. Reports are filtering in that even the morning shows are logging as much as 50 pct to 55 pct occupancy rate. The same will shoot up to much higher levels as the day goes on and the other shows roll around.

Sanju cast, that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Jim Sarbh and Vicky Kaushal, has done a formidable job of acting out the various difficult periods of Sanjay Dutt's life. Now that the film is out there an amazing sight has greeted the public as huge queues were seen in front of cinemas who were eager to watch the film. This is a rare happening and points to the explosive potential Ranbir Kapoor starrer carries in terms of box office colelction.

According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, the show that he watched today morning was 'jam-packed'. He took to Twitter to post this message: "#Sanju opens with BUMPER occupancy of 50-55% at very early morning shows (7-8) across India, 9-10 am shows will register 60-65% occupancy all over India. HUGE opening considering 4000+ screens." He also said that the cinema had 'Housefull' signs out.

As far as Sanju collection prediction goes, Ranbir Kapoor and company are expected to power the movie to No 1 position in Bollywood's 2018 list. Sanju collection is expected to hit Rs 30 cr and above on day 1. While opening day collection is massive, the lifetime may be even more so as analysts have said it may breach the Rs 230 cr mark.

What adds to the lure of the movie is the uncanny resemblance of Ranbir Kapoor to Sanjay Dutt and his unerring portrayal of that role as can bee seen in posters and trailers of the film. Also, Sanjay Dutt has had a very colourful life and the public is eager to find out the lurid details. Considering that he was the son of a star couple Sunil Dutt and Nargis simply adds to the equation.
