Salman Khan posted bail today and duly paid Rs 50,000 bond that the court ordered to start the process of leaving jail after a 2 day stint there. While Salman himself faced a terrible ordeal in Jodhpur jail, what with mosquitoes and bad food and hard bed and no creature comforts, his filmmakers were virtually trembling at the prospect of the star being jailed for a long period. He had been sentenced to a 5 year jail term for killing 2 Blackbucks in Jodhpur some 19 years ago. He has spent virtually 20 days in jail over that period. Reportedly, the star has as much as Rs 500 cr riding on him in terms of movies and TV serials.

All of that money would disappear isntantly if Salman was jailed. For filmmakers that would have been crippling losses to bear. Now that Salman has got bail, they must be heaving a sigh of relief. Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3 and Kick 2 are the movies currntly on his plate. In TV he has Dus Ka Dum in the works. However, Salman is not the only one who has scared people who have invested a lot of money on them. Here are few others:

Sanjay Dutt had a number of movies he was acting in pending when he was convicted and had to serve his full jail term at the Yerawada Central Jail, Pune in February 2016. He too was sentenced to a 5 year jail term  by the Supreme Court for illegal possession of weapons. The case was linked to March 12, 1993 serial bomb blasts. Reportedly, there were projects in excess of Rs 250 cr riding on him at that time.

Fardeen Khan was arrested from Juhu in a drugs case. His case dragged for a decade. However, not much money was invested in the actor when he hit the headlines. One of the most promising young actors Sooraj Pancholi was linked  to suicide of British-American Bollywood actress Jiah Khan. Pancholi's career was at take off point then. Saif Ali Khan was involved in a fight with an NRI businessman at a hotel in 2012. He was arrested, but fortunately made bail.
