The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak spoke to Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Friday and discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries. It was a telephonic conversation.

Puri is also the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs.

"Alexander Novak spoke by telephone with Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs of India Hardeep Singh Puri," the government of Russia informed via Twitter.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current and potential joint projects in the fuel and energy industry and noted the current projects continue to be steadily implemented. India has also invited Russia to invest in the oil and gas sector and an invitation to Privileged State Partnership has also been given.

According to Russia's release, "What we have is a particularly privileged strategic partnership; the leaders of our countries maintain regular contact. Mutually beneficial cooperation is actively promoted, including the Arctic LNG 2 and Sakhalin 1 projects. Gazprom supplies LNG to India, and Rosneft continues its systematic work with its Indian partners. We are interested in further attracting Indian investments to the Russian oil and gas sector and expanding Russian companies' sales networks in India," said Alexander Novak.

The figures of Russia's oil and petroleum products exports to India exceeded $1 billion and are expected to grow further. It is also expected that positive energy will also come in the relations of the nuclear field.

The country also wants to further expand relations in the field of education with India.
