While explaining the incident, Deoria Superintendent of Police Shripati Mishra said that a person was fined with Rs 1000 fine for not wearing a mask two days ago, along with the receipt of the fine, he was also provided a mask to wear. The name of the person, who paid the fine is Amarjeet Yadav.

However, Yadav was again found without a mask and this time he was fined Rs 10000 since he was a repeat offender and did not adhere to the rules announced by the state government to put a check on the covid, added Deoria SP Mishra.

This is probably the first case that a person has been fined Rs 10,000 for not adhering to the measures and failing to wear a mask.

Significantly, the state government had announced several restrictions and measures on the war against Corona. On the receipt of challan, it was mentioned that Rs 1000 will be charged for not wearing a mask. Moreover, the challan had also mentioned that if caught without a mask for the second time, a penalty of Rs 10000 will be levied on the repeat offender.

With the Covid situation tuning for the worst, the central government on Monday, to arrest the surge in cases, has allowed almost everyone above the age of 18-year to get vaccinated.
