RRB Group D: The wait is over for around two crore aspirants. Indian Railways has released the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Level 1 exam details and admit card download schedule. The Computer Based Test (CBT) for recruitment of Level 1 Posts as per 7th CPC shall start from 17-09-2018, said the Indian Railways. Earlier, it was expected that the admit card will be released today. However, the railways issued a notification stating that candidates will be able to download e-call letters four days prior to the exam. Therefore, for the September 17 exam, the candidates will be able to download their admit card from September 13.

It also said that the link to check exam date, city, and shift will soon be made available on the RRB sites. "Candidates may login with their credentials on the above-mentioned dates through the link to be provided on the official websites of RRBs for knowing their Exam City, Date, Session, downloading Train Travel Authority (for SC/ST candidates only)and E-Call letter," it said.

The notice said that candidates will be intimated of exam city, date, and shift from September 9. 

The Indian Railways will conduct the Group D exams for 63,000 posts under 7th pay commission band. The railways had said the pay scale will be according to 'Level 01 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs 18000 plus other allowances admissible at that time (at the time of joining).

A whopping 1.9 crore candidates have applied for  63,000 posts. Since the exam will be held in phases and shifts, candidates have been advised to keep a check on their respective RRB sites for latest updates.

The RRB Group D exam will be held in 15 regional languages as was in the case of ALP/Technician exam. Indian Railways has tied up with the Tata Consultancy Services to conduct the Computer-based tests. It had said that no two question papers will be alike.

Indian Railways has also released the subject wise marks for the exam. The test will consist of Multiple Choice Questions. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes for general candidates and 120 minutes for eligible PWD candidates accompanied with scribes. The online test will be of 100 marks - 25 marks for Mathematics, 30 marks for General Intelligence and Reasoning, 25 marks for General Science, and 20 marks for General Awareness and Current Affairs. Candidates who qualify in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT - 1/3 of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for the wrong answer.
