RRB recruitment 2018: Indian Railways has really shown its generous face for aspirants who will take computer-based tests for vacant posts of assistant loco pilots (ALP) and technicians on August 9, far away from their dwelling places. Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, who took into consideration the difficulties these candidates will face to reach the exam centre away from their native districts, today said that the number of "vacancies" has been more than doubled to 60,000.

Regarding this RRB recruitment 2018 drive, the Railways Minister tweeted, "Government has more than doubled the vacancies for assistant loco pilot and technician posts from 26,502 to 60,000, ensuring more jobs in Railways."

It was a big relief to nearly 48 lakh candidates appearing for the first set of tests for just 26,502 vacancies. Notably, as many as 47.56 lakh candidates have applied for various posts that overall add up to over 1 lakh, but now will really jump massively.

Earlier on July 26, Indian Railways activated the mock link for the first stage of the computer-based test, and has also facilitated the candidates to downloaded their E-call letters from the recruitment board website four days prior to the examination.

Candidates can login with their credentials on the above mentioned dates through a link to be provided on the official websites of the RRBs and find out about their exam centre, date and session, said a notice from the Indian Railways, adding that they can download Travel Authority (for SC/ST candidates only) and E-call letter.

The exam will last for an hour for general candidates and 80 minutes for candidates who are differently-abled.
