The delay in issuance of the RRB NTPC Admit Card is reportedly due to in-house issues because of the large number of applications, and also because of the RRBs currently being involved in other recruitments. The RRB received 1,26,30,885 applications to fill 35,208 vacant positions under NTPC for both graduates and non-graduate posts in various zonal railways and production units of the Indian Railways.

Prior the Lok Sabha election 2019, the Narendra Modi government had announced that Indian Railways will hold the recruitment for 3 lakh vacant positions of various categories in different departments. The Railways reportedly received around 5.09 crore applications for a total of 2,83,331 vacancies across various categories since 2018.

In the wake of high number of applications this year, the RRB is taking a lot of time to scrutinise them. This is said to be the reason behind delay in the announcement of admit card as well as exam details.
