Indian Railways has been conducting Group D exams for filling up the various posts under the Level 1 pay band of the 7th pay commission.  The exams are being held in three shifts a day. RRB had said that the admit card or e-call letter for each exam will be made available just four days prior to the exam date. The Indian Railways has also been running some special trains to clear the exam rush. Around 1.9 crore candidates have applied for the 60,000 Group D posts in the Indian Railways.

RRB Group D admit cards will be released for only those candidates who have successfully completed his/her application. The exam will be of 90 minutes consisting of 100 questions - 25 from Mathematics, 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, 25 from General Science and 20 from General Awareness and Current Affairs.

Now, Indian Railways has announced a good news for a section of candidates who have applied for RRB Group D exam. Those candidates who have somehow failed to appear in the September 26 Computer Based Test (CBT) due to West Bengal Bandh can appear in the exam again. This certainly includes the candidates who had reached late at their exam centre due to unforeseen circumstances. 

"All the candidates who were scheduled to appear in the Computer Based Test(CBT) in West Bengal on 26-09-2018 but could not appear due to the Bandh in the State, shall be given an opportunity to appear in the CBT after 16-10-2018. These candidates shall be intimated about the rescheduled date and venue through website, e-mail and SMS," said the RRB Kolkata in a notification.

Those selected after the RRB Group D CBT and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will get salary as per the Level 01 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs 18,000 plus other allowances admissible at that time.
