"It hit suvidha centre of Sarhali PS. FIR registered under UAPA and forensic team here. Army squad is here too," he added.

After visiting the site, Punjab DGP said that the blast will be investigated both technically and forensically, all clues from the scene of the crime were being collected so that reconstruction of the incident can be done. He said that authorities are trying to recover the launcher as well.

"Preliminary probe reveals it should be military-grade hardware and could be a matter of trans-border smuggling. Very clear indication that it's a strategy of neighbouring nation to bleed India by a thousand cuts. Punjab Police, with BSF and central agencies, will investigate the incident," he stated.

Earlier in May, a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the Punjab Police's Intelligence headquarters located in Mohali.
