Rajasthan Assembly election results 2023: Voting for as many as 200 constituencies—or Assembly seats—are scheduled to take in Rajasthan on Saturday, November 25, 2023. The 33 districts of the state have been divided into 200 seats. The ruling Congress party is eyeing a second straight term in Rajasthan, which has had a tradition of changing parties in governance for the last three decades.

Nearly 1,900 candidates are in the race to contest the seats in the Rajasthan elections, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Out of the 200 seats in the Rajasthan Assembly, 199 will be contested on November 25, as the Election Commission adjourned elections in the Karanpur constituency following the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.

A straight battle between Congress and the BJP will also partially determine which of the two parties stands a better chance of taking charge at the Centre in the 2024 general elections.

Voting rescheduled in Rajasthan: New date set for polls

The Election Commission decided to change the date of Rajasthan elections from the earlier November 23 taking into account representations from political parties, social organisations, and various media platforms raising concerns about the simultaneous occurrence of a significant number of weddings and social engagements on the original polling date.

Previous Rajasthan poll outcomes

In the 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats out of the 200-member house, while the BJP won 73 seats. In 2013, the BJP won 163 seats and formed the government in the state.
