Race 3 box office collection:  Salman Khan starter, which released on June 15, became the highest Hindi opener of 2018. Though the movie was expected to cross the mark of Rs 150 crore earlier, it has still managed to earn Rs 147.81 crore by the eighth day, which is near that major milestone. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor, Daisy Shah and Bobby Deol.

Race 3 went well in the first week of the release despite negative reviews from critics and audience. Now, the movie is expected to cross the mark of Rs 175 crore as there are no big releases until Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju' that stars Ranbir Kapoor. How well that film does is still an open question mark.

Race 3  box office collection dropped from Rs 29.17 crore on the first day to Rs 3.30 crore on the eighth day.  Will it cross Rs 200 cr? The jury is still out on that. The current week will be the deciding factor of course.

“Since the film lacked substance the collections were bound to drop. Had the film not been released over the Eid weekend, it would not have collected more than Rs 125 cr.” Trade pundit Amod Mehra told Bollywood Hungama.

Race 3 has seen a hiccup hitting its collection, but there is the current weekend to bank on for Salman Khan. The collection may well hit the double figures mark and that will be a tremendous boost for Salman Khan to provide momentum heading into the next week.

Race 3 has done well, as far as releases of 2018 are concerned. It would have done better were the word of mouth boost stronger. However, Salman Khan movies have a knack of hitting the big mark and this time too expectations by the industry itself will be high.
