Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, October 3, laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation a host of development projects worth Rs 27,000 crore in Chhattisgarh. The projects included NMDC Steel’s three-million-tonnes-per-annum integrated steel plant, worth over Rs 23,800 crore, at Nagarnar in the Bastar district, and a string of road and railway infrastructure works. The Prime Minister also flagged off a train service, Taroki-Raipur DEMU, connecting Taroki with the country’s railway network.

The PM also laid the foundation stone for a project to upgrade the Jagdalpur railway station, one of the 30 stations in the state being upgraded under the Centre’s ambitious Amrit Bharat Station drive, which seeks to redevelop more than 1,300 railway stations across the country.
