Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate/ lay foundation stone of projects worth Rs 1.64 lakh crore on Saturday, March 2, as per sources. Of the projects being inaugurated, 39 projects worth Rs 1.49 lakh crore will pertain to the petroleum sector, whereas projects worth Rs 9512 crore are related to fertilizer and projects worth Rs 4742 crore pertain to railways.

Sources also informed that a total of 29 projects in the petroleum sector built at a cost of approximately Rs 89 thousand crores will be inaugurated, and foundation stones for project/projects worth Rs 60,000 crore related to petroleum sector will also be laid.

PM to launch projects worth Rs 1.64 lakh crore from Bihar's Begusarai 

This will be PM's first visit to Bihar after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined hands with the BJP, and he will be launching projects worth nearly Rs 29,000 crore in the state.

The projects to be launched in Begusarai are related to multiple sectors including oil, gas, fertiliser and railways.

Official sources said the 39 of these projects, which will be either inaugurated or kick-started with the foundation laying ceremony, are in the oil and gas sector, and 10 in the railways. Six new trains will also be flagged off.

PM will also inaugurate the revived the Barauni fertiliser plant which will not only boost urea's domestic production but also generate employment opportunities, they added.
