In his much-awaited video message to the entire nation today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the entire nation for following the norms set by the government to defeat Coronavirus. He requested all to continue in the same spirit and show the world that the whole nation is united to defeat this COVID-19 virus and thereby make the lockdown successful, PM Modi today, also urged the entire nation to put-out the lights on 5th of April at 9 PM for 9 minutes and light up earthen pots, torch, mobile flash light or candle from their balcony or at the door of their home. He said that it will give an impression to the world that we are still as united as we were during the Janata Curfew on 22nd March.

In his video message to the nation, Prime Minister Modi said, "It is praiseworthy the way the entire nation has responded to the complete lockdown. It is the ninth day of the lockdown and during these nine days, we have shown to the world that entire 130 crore people of India are united and committed to defeating the Coronavirus."

PM Modi said that during lockdown we may have a feeling that, as an individual, what is it that we can do to defeat Coronavirus, but in actuality, each one of us is a building block in our society and our devotion and discipline is enough to defeat Coronavirus.

Speaking on the doldrums people have over the continuity of the lockdown, PM Modi told in his video message that people of India might be thinking as to how this lockdown is going to help defeat Coronavirus, but, he4 said, this is the only way through which we can maintain social distancing and it is successful as well. 

Praising people for responding to his Janata Curfew pledge, Modi said that the whole world knew about the kind of unity we displayed during the Janata Curfew and we need to repeat the same in this lockdown as well.
