PM Modi receives Sengol: Adheenam from Chennai hands over Sengol to Prime Minister

PM Narendra Modi Receives Sengol: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament House on Sunday 28 May. A day before this, PM Modi met Adheenam who came from Chennai at his residence and took his blessings. Saints have handed over Sengol to PM Modi. 21 Adheenams have come to Delhi from the Chennai airport to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House. Sangol will be kept near the Speaker's seat in the new Parliament House.

Sengol was handed over to PM Modi amid the chanting of mantras.

In the video that surfaced from the PM's residence, it can be seen that Adheenam is honouring Modi with a shawl.

At the same time, PM Modi also honoured Mahant Adheenam with a shawl.

During the Sengol ceremony, apart from PM Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was also present.

Sengol will be purified with holy water before being installed in the Parliament on Sunday.

Sengol will be placed on the podium next to the chair of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha amind chanting of hymns.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had told that on August 14, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru had accepted this Sengol from the people of Tamil Nadu.

It was kept in a museum in Allahabad.

Sengol is also related to the Chola dynasty.

Sengol was considered a symbol of authority and power in the Chola dynasty.

Many opposition parties have announced to boycott the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House to be held on 28 May 2023.
