Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Tuesday, October 18. The prices have been steady for nearly four months now in the country. The fuel prices are revised on daily basis in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates by public sector oil marketing companies.

Petrol, Diesel Latest Prices in major metropolitan Cities

Petrol and diesel in Delhi are retailing at the price of Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre, respectively.

People living in Mumbai are shelling out Rs 106.31 for a litre of petrol and Rs 94.27 for diesel.

Petrol is retailing at Rs 106.03 per litre and diesel at Rs 92.76 per litre in Kolkata.

Petrol costs Rs 102.63 per litre in Chennai whereas diesel Rs 94.24 per litre.

It was in May when petrol and diesel prices were revised in the country last time as the Centre had cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel to provide relief to skyrocketing inflation.

Petrol and Diesel are essential commodities mainly used for the purpose of transportation. Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state, due to the difference in local taxes like VAT and freight charges.
