Petrol-Diesel Prices Today, January 9: The price of petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Monday, January 9. Fuel prices have remained stagnant in the last seven months except Himachal Pradesh. The northern state government on Sunday announced that the state would increase the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel prices, according to the news agency ANI.

The state would raise the VAT in fuel prices up to Rs 7.40 per litre. After this, the diesel prices in the state would be Rs 86 per litre.

The oil marketing companies revise fuel prices every morning at 6:00 AM. The last major country-wide fluctuation in fuel prices was witnessed in May when the Centre cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

The retail price for petrol and diesel in New Delhi is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre, respectively,

The current cost of petrol and diesel in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 and Rs 94.27 a litre, respectively.

People in Chennai have to pay Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.

In NOIDA, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.
