Petrol, diesel prices on February 21: In a major relief to common man, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged after putting a halt to its continuous 12 straight day hike until Saturday (February 20). Petrol and diesel prices had touched all-time high in Delhi with the Friday's hike at Rs 90.58 per litre and 80.97 per litre respectively. Petrol was hiked by 39 paise and diesel by 37 paise in Delhi on Saturday.

However, as per a price notification from oil marketing companies (OMCs) cited by Free Press Journal, the prices remained unchanged in Delhi and Mumbai. In the last 12 days, the petrol price was increased by Rs 3.64 per litre and diesel rate has risen by Rs 4.18 a litre in the national capital region alone. 

Meanwhile, with the no change in price on Sunday, Petrol price in Delhi continues to remain at Rs 90.58 per litre and diesel Rs 80.97 per litre.   

In Mumbai too, petrol will cost Rs 97 per litre and diesel Rs 87.06 per litre, after being hiked by 38 paise and 39 paise respectively on Sarurday.  

Similarly, petrol price costs Rs 91.78 a litre, while diesel is available at Rs 84.56 per litre in Kolkata. In Chennai, Petrol will now cost Rs 92.59 per litre, while diesel is retailing at Rs 85.98 per litre.   

Petrol price in Noida is Rs 88.92 per litre, while diesel is Rs 81.41 per litre. Petrol price in Lucknow is Rs 88.86 per litre, while diesel is selling at Rs 81.35 per litre. 

Earlier, Petrol and diesel price had shot up to above Rs 100 per litre in Rajasthan, which levies the highest VAT on fuel in the country, as well as in some cities in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
