Parliament's Budget session began on January 31. The second and final part of the session is scheduled to be concluded on April 6. Today was also the final day of the first part of the session, which began on January 31. The second and final part will begin on March 13. Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm today after the session began on a stormy note in the morning.

Post Adani-Hindenburg Saga, there have been repeated debates over the issue in both Houses. Even after the Budget 2023, Parliament proceedings for both houses were adjourned for the day amid Opposition protest on the Adani group case on February 3.

During this month-long recess, it is expected that the review of the Budget papers will be done. Five state-run general insurance companies have a total exposure of ₹347.64 crore, or 0.14 per cent of their total assets under management (AUM), in the Adani group of companies, Finance Ministry said during the parliamentary session on Monday.

In reply to a question on details of money lent by banks and financial institutions to the Adani group, the Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha that the RBI Act prohibits disclosure of credit information submitted by a bank.

The Opposition has attacked the government over and again on the ongoing controversy regarding the Adani group. On February 7, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi brought up the Adani-Hindenburg issue in Lok Sabha. A notice was later issued against him for his "unparliamentary remarks". However, reacting to the Lok Sabha Secretariat's notice, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said on Monday that there was nothing unparliamentary in what Rahul Gandhi said in the Parliament.
