Padmaavat box office collections: This Deepika Padukone movie has created miracles. From surviving a pan India controversy over its content that even saw death threats being bandied about against the actors and direcor involved, the movie moved on from strength to strength after it was released. There has been no looking back and Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor have become part of the Bollywood folklore now. And this is not even a comment on the quality of the movie! This is all about how the public perceived the movie and how it attracted them into the theatres day after day, week after week in terms of money that was willingly spent by them for some wholesome entertainment.

The end result is that Padmaavat box office collections skyrocketed from the word go. While it did not break the first-day collections record of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy News Year of Rs 44.97 crore having instead collected Rs 24 crore on Day 1 (Thursday) that also includes paid previews and Rs 32 crore on Friday. Well, over and above that, Padmaavat collections skyrocketed to hit one the rarest of marks in Bollywood after that. It has been revealed that Padmaavat has now entered the exclusive Rs 300 cr club! The movie was released on January 25, 2018 after its deadline for release was missed due to the protests in the country. The movie has been in cinemas now for over 50 days!

An elated Ranveer Singh, who played the role of the dreaded king Alauddin Khilji in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, said, "Padmaavat is a historic film for our country. I'm overwhelmed and extremely happy. It is a film that is and will always be extremely close to my heart." With this film, Ranveer has entered the exclusive Rs 300 cr club for the first time.
