Oxygen delivery at home in Delhi:  Keeping the surge in Covid 19 cases in mind and shortage of beds in hospitals, the Delhi government has come up with a new idea to help patients who are in home isolation. The Delhi government has begun home delivery of medical oxygen from Thursday. This will not only relieve load on government and private hospitals but will also spare family the trouble for looking for oxygen cylinders. It will also ensure that patient or their family do not end up paying exorbitant prices for oxygen cylinders.

The CM Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government has taken this decision amid raging Covid-19 cases and an acute shortage of beds in the hospitals in the national capital. This decision is likely to help many Covid-19 patients in Delhi, who are unable to find a bed in hospitals and are undergoing treatment at home.  

Patients who need oxygen support will now be able to get the life-saving gas at their place at a reasonable price. "Those who urgently need medical oxygen can make a formal request online by visiting - delhi.gov. in. They will have to provide a photo identity card, Aadhar card and a Covid-19 report. The concerned department officials will ensure the timely delivery of medical oxygen to the patient, " said a Zee News report. 

This comes after AAP MP Sanjay Singh recently launched a free ‘Auto Ambulance’ service in Delhi for Covid-19 patients. These autos come equipped with oxygen cylinders, sanitisers and drivers of these auto ambulances wear in PPE kit.
