While for Mumbai the cost of FYJC guidance booklet is Rs 250, the same booklet outside Mumbai is sold at Rs 150 for class 10 students who will be seeking admission in FYJC. However, the education department has clarified that it is not a booklet fee but admission processing fees which is more for Mumbai students because the online admission rounds will be more in the city as compared to the other regions.

This year, the sale of FYJC guidance booklet for online admission process is being sold at two different rates by the education department. For Mumbai students, the price written on the booklet is Rs 250 and the same booklet is being sold outside Mumbai at Rs 150. The students have to collect the booklet as the department is also handing over their login ID and password to participate in the FYJC online admission process.

Uday Nare, a teacher of Hansraj Morarji Public School, Andheri, said, “This is not fair that Mumbai students are being sold the FYJC online admission guidance booklet at a costlier price than the students outside Mumbai. The amount should be same for all the students. Another option is to provide all details online instead of selling a booklet to the students.”

A teacher from the central suburb, who does not wish to be named, said, “There should be no discrimination among the students. The rates of a booklet should have been same. Parents will ask us questions.”
