October box office collection: Expectations from this Varun Dhawan starrer were quite restricted. From the movie being an offbeat one to a low screen count, not much was really expected and the first few days post release went by indicating that the filmmakers were likely not going to see anything good emerge from it in terms of collections. However, the film has been able to achieve a considerable total courtesy maintaining its momentum at a high enough level even as the first week draws to a close. October box office collection has hit a high of Rs 27.99 crore. What is notable is that this movie, which also stars Banita Sandhu, has not been able to boost its take into double digits even once in its run and yet it is working its way up the charts! So, on opening day it garnered Rs 5.04 crore and followed it up with Rs 7.47 crore, Rs 7.74 crore, Rs 2.70 crore, Rs 2.61 crore and finally, the latest figure is for Wednesday at Rs 2.43 crore.

While Varun Dhawan is known for his commercial films, with October movie, he has proved that his acting talent is not confined to that only and that he can as easily churn out an offbeat success story too. Notably, Rani Mukerji managed to do the same with another offbeat film, Hichki, which collected a sum of Rs 43.95 crore. October box office collection is being powered to a large extent by good word of mouth boost. This is likely to continue and with the weekend approaching, the take is going to fatten up further.
