October box office collection prediction: Varun Dhawan is known for peppy and serious movies. He has built his career around that. However, this time, he has taken a turn and done an offbeat film. Will October work wonders at the box office? Well, the actor had given Bollywood a superhit film in the form of his last release, which was Judwaa 2 in 2017. It was a hilarious movie that everyone loved and the result was very well seen at the turnstiles. Judwaa 2 emerged as one of the major successes of 2017. It had logged lifetime box office collection of Rs 138.61 cr. It grabbed a whopping Rs 59.25 cr in opening weekend and misssed achieving the Rs 100 cr mark by a whisker at the end of week 1 with a take of Rs 98.08 cr. The first day take itself was a massive Rs 16.10 crore. However, October box office collection is not expected to follow in that film's footsteps. Far from it, but it is not going to be a forgettable outing for Varun Dhawan either. October collection on day 1 is likely to be half that of Judwaa 2 at Rs 7-8 crore, says Bollywood Hungama. October also stars Banita Sandhu in leading role.

October movie does not only have an unusual title, it is far from any sort of humour. It has a love affair that is different. Whether that appeals to the public will be clear very soon as October releases on Friday itself. If the angle of approach to the love story is intriguing, the public is likely to reward Varun Dhawan with a strong word of mouth boost and that could even take the collection into the double digit levels. Considering that Varun Dhawan has emerged as such a strong force in Bollywood over the recent years, the chances of him doing well are strong.

In fact, October box office collection may well follow in the footsteps of another Varun Dhawan film, which is Badlapur. Though the film had a commercial angle and the stellar presence of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, it managed to earn Rs 7 cr on opening day. There is big uncertainty to October movie and that is adding to the buzz around it.
