In a massive news for all those who live in Delhi-NCR region, it has been announced that metro train service will now reach deep into Greater Noida. This area is vast and has big open spaces that makes it ideal for residential and other purposes and now that connectivity with Noida and Delhi will be ensured as it will be linked to the metro network soon, it makes this place one of the better living spaces to explore. Yesterday, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has approved the 15-km metro line from Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park-V in west Greater Noida. 
 
This new metro line between Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park-V in west Greater Noida is expected to give boost to the real estate projects in the area. The residents of the area currently need to take private vehicles to commute to their workplaces and which is at times inconvenient.

On the Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park-V in west Greater Noida metro line, there will be 9 stations in the stretch and the work will be completed in two phases. The first phase connecting Noida Sector 71 and  Greater Noida West's Sector 2 will have five stations.

The work for the metro project is expected to begin next year. The metro stretch is estimated to cost Rs 2602 crore. The project was earlier approved by the Akhilesh Yadav government in 2016, however, due to funds crunch and viability factors the work for the project could not be started. Earlier, the authorities delayed the project, as they expected low ridership on the stretch.

Now, with completion of many real estate projects and increasing number of residents in the area, authorities have taken up the project again. The metro line will be built by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC).

This metro line will connect Noida Sector 71, Sector 122, Sector 123, Sector 4 to Greater Noida West.

According to a The Hindu report, of 3.5 lakh housing units under construction in Greater Noida West, around 40,000 are occupied. These housing projects are now expected to become pricier with the approval of the Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park-V in west Greater Noida metro line.
