To ensure maximum digital transactions, the NDA government while making Aadhaar card mandatory for a host of services also introduced a micro ATM system which will eliminate the need of using debit cards. Yes, you have read it right! There are Aadhaar ATMs which help you do your transactions within seconds. These are Aadhaar micro ATMs modified at Point of Sale (POS) terminal, and were launched with the purpose to boost cardless cash transactions. Hence, while using Aadhaar ATM you do not need to visit an ATM machine or need to know four-digit debit card PIN. You can perform basic cash transactions at POS, using Aadhaar number and your fingerprint as identity.

Firstly to avail this service your must open a bank account with proper KYC norms and link it with Aadhaar card. 

If you already have a bank account, then link it with Aadhaar card. It usually takes only 1 - 2 minutes for Aadhaar seeding.

There are no service charges and transaction cost levied using Aadhaar ATM. However, Merchant or Business Correspondent (BC)/Bank Mitra may get charged or paid based on bank‘s discretion.

While doing the transaction, you must remember your Aadhaar number, give bank name and present biometrics. However, note first to ask about the service at POS. 

Aadhaar ATM operates like normal ATMs and debit cards. Services like balance enquiry, cash withdrawal, cash deposit, Aadhaar to Aadhaar fund transfer and Payment Transactions (C2B, C2G Transactions) are available. 

Although there are no limit defined by RBI, however, you must check your bank’s terms and conditions in withdrawal or transaction limit on monthly basis. 

Currently, the service is available in 118 banks.
