NEET 2020: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate courses, MBBS/BDS, will be held on May 3, 2020. the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the exam for the second time. Earlier, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would conduct the exam. The applicants will be able to apply in the prescribed format from December 2. The application process will end on December 31, 2019.

The applicants have to apply through the NTA website - ntaneet.nic.in. The applicants will be able to download the NEET admit card from March 27. The next year, exam will be held in the pen-and-paper mode  and the expected release date is June 4, 2020.

The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank merit list” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India, for the conduct of counselling for 15 percent all-India quota seats and for supplying the result to states/other counselling authorities. 

To be eligible for the  National Eligibility  Entrance Test (NEET UG 2020), the candidates have to be Class 12 pass. It will be a three-hour-long test. There will be 180 questions from physics, chemistry and biology. However, half the questions will be from biology.  There is negative marking for every wrong answers and a correct answer would get plus four marks. 

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has established NTA as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
