Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the New Delhi to Katra Vande Bharat Express on Thursday morning in the presence of Union Ministers Dr Jitendra Singh and Dr Harsh Vardhan. The Indian Railways has informed that the ticket bookings for the same have already started on IRCTC official website - irctc.co.in and the commercial operations of the same will start from October 5. The train will reduced the travel time between New Delhi and Katra to just eight hours. Railways have not implemented dynamic fare in Delhi-Katra Vande India.

While inaugurating the train, Amit Shah said that he is proud and believes that Indian Railways is working towards achieving its targets. "I'm proud that this 'Made in India' train is being flagged-off from here today. The railways is working towards achieving its targets keeping in mind principles of speed, scale & service," he said. 

Meanwhile, Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal promised that Indian Railways will connected country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari before Indepedence Day, 2022. "Indian Railways will connect the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari before 15th August, 2022," he said.

New Delhi- Katra Vande Bharat Express ticket fare 

The AC chair car ticket has been priced at Rs 1,630, while the ticket price of Executive chair car is Rs 3,015. In the return journey, the ticket price for AC chair car from Katra to New Delhi is fixed at Rs 1,570, while the Executive chair car ticket would cost you Rs 2,965.  

New Delhi- Katra Vande Bharat Express route 

The train will only have three stops between New Delhi Railway Station and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station - Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi. The 655 km long journey will be completed in just 8 hours by this train. Earlier, it used to take more than 11 hours to complete this journey. With this, the new train will be the fastest to operate on New Delhi-Katra route. 

New Delhi- Katra Vande Bharat Express time table & schedule 

The New Delhi- Katra Vande Bharat Express will run on all days of the week, except for Tuesdays. It will leave from New Delhi at 6:00 pm and reach Ambala at 8:10 am, Ludhiana at 9:19 am, Jammu Tawi at 12:38 pm and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 2:00 pm. In the return journey, the train will start from Katra at 3:00 pm on the same day to reach New Delhi at 11 pm. The train will only stop for 2 minutes during its three halts at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi.
