Western Railway has introduced a state-of-the-art Uttam rake. Interestingly, Uttam rake is the first non-air-conditioned local train on Western Railway route to have CCTV cameras in all coaches.

On Monday, Western Railway tweeted, "On the occasion of 69th Foundation day, WR to introduce "Uttam Rake" with improved exteriors & advanced features like CCTV cameras in all compartments etc. It wl make the journey of commuters memorable. Today this rake will depart from Churchgate at 6.13 pm as CCG - VR Ladies spl."

Uttam Rake features:-

According to the video released by the railway, the new rake comes with wooden finish coach ceiling, CCTV cameras, anti-dent partitions, modular luggage racks, comfortable seats with more space.

Uttam Rake seats:
Talking about the first-class coaches the seats have cousins with higher backrests. Second-class coaches have seats made from fibre-reinforced plastic (FPR) with a wood finish and dual-lock windows.

The new rake also has larger grab handles, which will help for better grip and can behold by 2 people at the same time.

Emergency Button:
It also comes with a red emergency button in place of the traditional emergency chains and energy-saving fans with diffused light LED tubes.
