Over the last 24 hours, India's financial hub and the city which never sleeps, Mumbai has witnessed heavy rains. The rainfall record of this monsoon has been in three-digits, which has never been recorded in last 10 years. This has heavily impacted day-to-day travelling of Mumbaikars. Many flights have been delayed at Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus. Not only that, heavy showers are expected to continue, creating further havoc for tarvellers dependent on rail, road and air transport. So, if your flight has been delayed, you always have the option to cancel or change your tickets. Here's how the procedure works with different airlines.

If a passenger does not wish to travel, then you can cancel your booking at least 12 hours prior to scheduled departure of the flight. Refund will be made to you subject to applicable cancellation charges.

2. Indigo: 

You can cancel the ticket online and get refunded after the applicable cancellation charges are incurred. Changes or cancellations to booking must be made at least 

  • 2 hrs prior for domestic flights
  • 4 hrs prior for international flights.

Refund for cancelled tickets will be processed after the deduction of appropriate cancellation fees, which may take up to 7 working days.

3. SpiceJet:

At SpiceJet, changes and cancellations to flights can be done up to 2 hour prior to the scheduled departure time for Domestic flights, and up to 4 hours prior to departure for International and Interline flights. All promo/sale fares are restrictive fares and are refundable (only statutory taxes ).

If you wish to change any of the details of your booking e.g. date and time or cancellation of your booking, you must inform it at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure of your flight. 

Any difference in fare will be charged additionally as applicable. Changes/ Cancellation to your booking can be done at our Reservations or at any of our SpiceJet's Airport Sale Centers or online through the SpiceJet site.

4. GoAir:

The onus for cancelling the PNR within the stipulated time rests with the Customers and if necessary should be done by visiting our Airport ticketing counter. 

Cancellations to bookings less than 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time will be treated as no show Customers.

5. Vistara:

Cancellation and change only can be done within 24 hours of booking. (For instance, for bookings made on Monday, you will be able to cancel/change the same without any fee till Tuesday midnight).

Bookings must be made at least 7 days in advance.

Cancellation and change can only be done by calling the Vistara Customer Service Center on +91 9289228888. Refund of fares will be done accordingly. 

Skymet stated on Monday, extremely heavy Monsoon rains have been lashing Mumbai city for the last 24 hours. Till now the city has recorded rains in a three-digit number to the tune of 235 mm. This is the second highest rainfall recorded in Mumbai in a span of 24 hours in the last 10 years.

The weather forecaster added, "Such heavy rains are not unusual for Mumbai. In fact, the city sees such two-three spells of torrential rains in June. According to weathermen, Mumbai is all set to surpass its monthly average rainfall of 493 mm, shortly as more rains are in offing."
