Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister told reporters in Mumbai that the state government has cleared all decks for the bullet train project.

"All clearances given for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train in the state," he said.

The project was launched in 2017 during then Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to the country. Once completed, it will be India's first high-speed rail line.
