Aadhaar number, which is a 12-digit number issued by the UIDAI to the residents of India after the verification process laid down by the Authority, has made life easier for an individual. Under this facility, individuals irrespective of age and gender can voluntarily enrol to obtain Aadhaar number, but they have provide minimal demographic and biometric information during the process. Notably, a person needs to enrol for Aadhaar only once and after de-duplication only one Aadhaar is generated, therefore the process of demographic and biometric de-duplication maintains its uniqueness.

The TOTP algorithm assumes that the system times are synchronized."
