Natural Menthol producer, Jindal Drugs' owners have bought a triplex apartment worth Rs 220 crore in South Mumbai. This is the most expensive real estate deal the country has witnessed on Thursday, said a The Golden Sparrow report.

According to the report, the owners bought triplex in Lodha Altamount, a high-end building in South Mumbai. The carpet area of the triplex is 13,900 sq ft. The flat is at 37th, 38th and 39th floor in the luxurious building that is under construction, the report said.

Interestingly, the Jindals have bought the plot which was formerly owned by US Consulate. As per the report, the plot on which this luxury building is constructed was home to Washington House owned by the US Consulate. In 2012, Lodha Developers acquired the plot in December 2012 for Rs 342 crore.

About the triplex

As per the report, the cost of 37th floor is Rs 58.16 crore, 38th floor is 59.15 crore and 39th floor is Rs 90.26 crore. 

The owners have paid an additional amount of Rs 10.41 crore along with the other charges like, common area maintenance charges, land under construction reimbursement charges, building protection deposit, provisional property tax, sinking fund, among others. 

So, the total cost of the whole flat is more than Rs 220 crore, making it the most expensive flat in the country.

What makes the tower so expensive?

--The flat has 16 parking slots. 

--Every resident has access to private jets for five years.

--Rooftop covered with swimming pool and a lounge area.

--The luxury tower offers in-resident room service, housekeeping and membership to a high-end spa.

According to the report, in 2012, Jindals had bought a flat in Tahnee Heights in South Mumbai worth Rs 39 crore, again the costliest residential flat that time.

The owners of Lodha Developers has also bought four flats in the building, the report added.
