Mission Mangal box office collection: The Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan film has struck gold at the box office. After earning over Rs 29 crore on an opening day, the movie entered Rs 100 crore club on the fifth day.  Mission Mangal is witnessing an upward trend at the box office and is said to cross the lifetime business of Kesari. The total collection of the movie is now at Rs 114.39 crore.

The movie is said to breach Rs 127 cr in extended week 1. The movie is doing well in metro, as well as, tier 2 cities. On Friday, the film garnered Rs 17.28 crore, while the collection went up on Saturday to Rs 23.58 crore, On Sunday it added Rs 27.54 cr to its collection. On Monday it added Rs 8.91 cr and Tuesday it collected Rs 7.92 cr at the box office.

The movie caught the imagination of the people and received good reviews from critics.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari which was released on 21st March 2019 had collected Rs 105.86 crore in the first week, before adding Rs 29.66 crore and Rs 11.69 crore in the consecutive weeks. It took just three days to rake in Rs 50 crore, four days to earn Rs 75 crore and seven days to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. The film then slowed down and entered the Rs 150 crore club on 25th day of release. 

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the film’s figures on his Twitter account. He wrote, "#MissionMangal is trending very well on weekdays... Should comfortably cross ₹ 127 cr in *extended* Week 1... Will challenge *lifetime biz* of #Kesari in Week 2... Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr, Sat 23.58 cr, Sun 27.54 cr, Mon 8.91 cr, Tue 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 114.39 cr. India biz."

The movie stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menen in prominent roles. Mission Mangal plots around a real-life story of the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mars Orbiter Mission which made Mars more accessible to explore.
