Stock markets held firm near the day's high in mid-afternoon trade. The steep slide in crude oil prices and positive global shares boosted sentiment. At 2:46 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex, advanced 858.72 points or 2.15% at 40,731.03. The Nifty 50 index surged 256.40 points or 2.19% at 11,964.30. Nifty Bank gained 662.90 points or 2.21% to 30,686.15. GMR Infrastructure: Up 1.86%. Gained over 2% on February 4 after the company signed an agreement to operate Bidar Airport.

Coal India: Up 2.02%. Research house Citi maintained buy with a target of Rs 270 per share.

ITC: Up 3.90%. Recovery signal after heavy sell-off in the last two sessions. The stock retreated by almost 12% as investors went on a selling spree.

Castrol India: Up 4.21%. Kotak Institutional Equities upgraded the stock to buy from sell and raises target to Rs 180 from Rs 130 per share.

RIL: Up 2.30%. Recovers on February 4 as new production from KG D6 project will start by mid-2020.

Bajaj Auto: Down 3.54%. Reports 3% decline in sales at 394,473 units in January YoY.

Thyrocare Tech: Up 4.20%. Hits 52-week high surges 28% in two days. Reported a strong operational performance.

Shriram Transport: Up 6.43%. The company's net profit grew 38.1 per cent year on year (y-o-y).

GlaxoSmithKline Pharma: Down 12.70%. Tanked over 11% on February 4. Hits 3-month low. Consolidated net loss of Rs 661.16 crore for the December 2019 quarter, mainly on account of the impact of recall of Zinetac.

Manappuram Finance: Down 6.11%. Slips after 5% equity change hands in block deals at discount.
