The market benchmark Sensex and Nifty turned red on Monday, January 17, 2020. Certain stocks were in action - depending on the type of news/reports related to it - and have an impact on the indices and pushed the BSE Sensex down 335.97 points or 0.80% to 41,609.40 and the Nifty 50 lost 97.25 points or 0.79% to 12,255.10 at 1.36 pm. Similarly, Bank Nifty was down by 370 points, or 1.17%, to 31,220.65.

--CEAT: Down 1.27%: Promoter reduces stake to 46.68% from 50.52% (September): BSE filing
--HCL Tech: Down 0.96%. Falls 5% from day's high on profit booking post-Q3 results.

--HDFC Bank: Down 1.58%. Slips over 1% as Q3 provisions rise; analysts maintain 'Buy' provisions, including those for bad loans and contingencies, grew a whopping 37.6 per cent to Rs3,043.6 crore in Q3FY20.

--Fine Organic: Up 4.85%. ICRA upgrades long-term rating from A+ (positive) to AA- (stable). ICRA Retains Short-term rating at A1+. 

--Cipla: Up 0.15%. Announced the closure of inspection by the US health regulator at its Patalganga manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

--Adani Enterprises: Down 0.55%. Denies wrongdoing amid allegations of coal supply contract irregularities.
