Mann ki Baat is the Prime Minister's monthly radio address, and it will broadcast on the last Sunday of every month. The programme will be broadcast on the entire network of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, AIR News and mobile app.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "#MannKiBaat programme commences at 11 AM today. Do tune in.".

Today’s edition assumes significance in the backdrop of a new SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 or Omicron. The variant was first detected in South Africa. As experts are of the view that this variant has a large number of mutations, it has led to travel restrictions on passengers from African nations.
