Maharashtra bus accident latest updates: In the early hours of Saturday, a bus hit a truck in Nashik, Maharashtra, causing a fire that left 10 people dead and 24 injured, PTI said citing police.

Around 5 am in the morning, the accident happened on Aurangabad Road, an official added.

There were perhaps 30 people on the private bus, a "sleeper" coach. According to the official, it struck the truck in Nandur Naka and started burning shortly after, said PTI.

The injured were taken urgently to a local hospital, the official said. He added, the majority of those killed and injured were bus passengers. The truck was traveling from Dhule to Mumbai, PTI said.
