Madhya Pradesh Lockdown Latest News Today: The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country has been more dangerous than the first one. With more than three lakh fresh infections every day, the authorities are desperately looking at options to break the chain of transmission. Several state governments have already imposed lockdowns. On Wednesday, the state of Madhya Pradesh also decided to extend the 'corona curfew' in the state till May 7 to break the 'chain of transmission'.

As per a report by PTI, the news on the extension of the 'corona curfew' in the state of Madhya Pradesh was informed by a minister yesterday. At present, several districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore and other prominent cities are under 'corona curfew' till May 3, 2021. While talking to the reporters regarding the review meeting with the Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed, "Chief Minister (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) has decided to extend the corona curfew (or Janata curfew) till May 7."

Yesterday, the Maharashtra government has also decided to extend lockdown-like curbs in the state till May 15, 2021 to contain the spread of the disease. Earlier, the Delhi government has also extended the lockdown in the national capital till May 3, 2021.

Coming back to Madhya Pradesh, the home minister of the state also stated that the state government was also in discussion to stop plying of buses from Niwari and Datia districts, located along the Uttar Pradesh border. The availability of life-saving gas oxygen has proven to be of utmost importance in this second wave of pandemic in the country, the shortage of oxygen cylinders in various parts of the country has costed several lives.

In this issues, Mishra said that 29 tankers of oxygen reached the state in two days. Also, an Oxygen Express train carrying six tankers also reached Madhya Pradesh yesterday.

Out of the several negatives, the positive news is that the recovery rate in the state reached 85 per cent on Wednesday from 80.49 a day before. Also, the registration for the third phase of vaccination drive in the country has begun from yesterday. All adults above 18 years of age have been included in the vaccination drive starting from May 1, 2021.
