Indian Railways is set to launch the second premium Tejas Express train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, to be inaugurated soon and now we know how it looks like. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal gave a closer look of the new train by sharing some images of it. Going by the pictures, it seems like passengers on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route are set for a luxurious ride. Goyal said that the new train is a symbol of Indian culture blended with modernisation.

"First glimpse of the new Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express which will be inaugurated tomorrow. With state-of-the-art facilities along with the crew’s traditional attire, the new Tejas Express is a symbol of Indian culture blended with modernisation for enhanced passenger comfort," the Railway Minister said in a tweet.

This will be the second Tejas express, coming after the successful run of the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express. The new train is set to be inaugurated on January 17 and the commercial run will start from January 19 from Ahmedabad. The train will be operated by IRCTC which also operates the first Tejas Train.

The new Tejas Express will have two Executive Class Chair Cars with 56 seats each. Apart from this, it has eight Chair Cars with a capacity of 78 seats each. The total carrying capacity of the train will be 736 passengers.

The train will cover following stations - Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivali and will run on all days of the week except Thursday. The passengers of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will get Rail Travel Insurance of up to Rs 25 Lakhs, free of cost by IRCTC.

This cover will include exclusive coverage of Rs 1 lakh against household theft/robbery during the travel period of the passengers.
