Petroleum companies have once again increased the prices of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG or cooking gas). Now people will have to pay Rs 25 more for domestic LPG cylinder (14.2 kilogram). After the increase in prices, a domestic cylinder would now cost Rs 859.50 in Delhi compared to the earlier cost of Rs 834.50.

After the new price hike, the rate of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Kolkata has reached Rs 886, Rs 859.5 in Mumbai and Rs.897.5 in Lucknow.

Similar to the price of domestic LPG cylinder, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder has also been increased by Rs 68. Now the price of commercial cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 1618.

It can be noted that oil companies review the price of LPG on the 1st and 15th of every month. Earlier on July 1, oil companies had increased the rate of LPG cylinder by Rs 25.

LPG prices were increased in February, March and then in July. At the beginning of 2021, the price of an LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 694. The price was first increased to Rs 719 per cylinder in February. Further, on February 15, the price was increased to Rs 769. Meanwhile, on February 25, the price of the LPG cylinder was reduced to Rs 794, according to a report by ANI.

In March, the price of the LPG cylinder shot up to Rs 819. And finally, after the reduction of Rs 10 in early April, the price of domestic LPG in Delhi had gone up to Rs 809. But with the hike in July and no in August, the prices of LPG cylinders increased by Rs 165.50 in 2021, ANI report added.

As per a report by ANI, the LPG prices have doubled in last 7 years. An LPG refill which cost Rs 410.50 per cylinder on March 1, 2014 now costs Rs 859.50, which is more than double.
