Aadhaar has become one of the most prominent documents for citizens. The government has made it highly important by linking it to avail many services. It is the world's largest biometric ID which has a 12-digit unique identity number that can be obtained by residents of India, based on their biometric and demographic information. The document is mandatory for various official purposes like filing income tax returns, opening a bank account, applying for Personal Account Number (PAN) or to avail benefits if the government schemes.

Well, the document has a prominent importance but it has a chance of getting lost. In case you have lost your Aadhaar card, you need to get a duplicate Aadhaar.

An individual can get a duplicate Aadhaar card from the official website of UIDAI in simple steps by providing the details like enrollment number mentioned in the acknowledgement slip given during the enrollment for the Aadhaar card initially.

Here's how to get a new Aadhaar card:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI i.e https://resident.uidai.gov.in/find-uid-eid.

Step 2: Now choose either "Aadhaar No (UID)" or "Enrollment No (EID)" to proceed.

Step 3: Enter your basic details like name, email address and mobile number registered with UID.

Step 4: Now enter the asked security code, displayed on the screen and click on the "Get OTP" option.

Step 5: After that you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number/e-mail address.

Step 6: Enter that OTP received on the mobile number and click on the "Verify OTP" option.

Step 7: In a short while, you will get a message on your mobile number with your Aadhaar or Enrollment number.

Step 8: Now go to the official website - https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Step 9: The system will ask you to select your Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrollment ID (EID).

Step 10: Input your Aadhaar number or Enrollment ID, full name, pin code, security text as shown in the tab and mobile number.

Step 11: An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number again. 

Step 12: Enter the same OTP received on mobile in the "Enter OTP" nutton and click on "Validate and Generate" option. 

Step 13: Eventually, your Aadhaar will be Generated in the form of a PDF file.
