Kisan Mahapanchayat in Delhi: Farmers gathered at Ramlila Maidan today for the Kisan Mahapanchayat to urge for a legislative guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP). Almost 2,000 security officers have been stationed at the location by the Delhi Police. Extensive security measures have also been implemented to guarantee that the event goes well. The police personnel have also been deployed for crowd management and to ensure that no unauthorised person gains entry and disrupts law and order.

Pensions, debt waiver, restitution for those who perished during the farmers' uprising, and the cancellation of the electricity bill are among the other requests made by the farmers.  

According to an advisory by the Delhi Traffic Police, around 15,000-20,000 people are likely to participate in the Kisan Mahapanchayat.

Kisan Mahapanchayat in Delhi: Advisory for the general public 

  • To avoid aforementioned roads/stretches. 
  • Commuters travelling to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and ISBT should leave with enough time to account for potential delays on the route. 
  • Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads. 
  • To park vehicles only at designated parking lots. 
  • Avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal traffic flow. 
  • In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is noticed in suspicious circumstances, the police should be immediately informed.
