Kesari box office collection day 7: Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra starrer has set a new record by becoming the fastest film to earn more than Rs 100 crore in 2019. Kesari reached the feat on day 7 of its release and left behind Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy and multi-starrer Total Dhamaal. The film had released on Holi and picked up well after a slow start due to the festival. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the early release benefitted the film and the collections were good in the North circuits.

"#Kesari puts up a wonderful total... Benefitted due to an earlier release [Thu - #Holi]... Steady on weekdays, although the biz should’ve been higher... North circuits excellent... Week 2 will give an idea of how strong it trends and it’s likely *lifetime biz*... Data follows...," he tweeted.

Kesari had opened to Rs 21.06 crore last Thursday and has been steady since then. It raked in Rs 5.85 crore on day 7, taking the overall collection to Rs 105.86 crore. "#Kesari Thu [#Holi] 21.06 cr, Fri 16.75 cr, Sat 18.75 cr, Sun 21.51 cr, Mon 8.25 cr, Tue 7.17 cr, Wed 6.52, Thu 5.85 cr. Total: ₹ 105.86 cr. India biz. Note: Extended Week 1," Adarsh said, in another tweet.

Gully Boy had entered the Rs 100 crore club on day 8 - the same number of days Total Dhamaal took to achieve the feat.

"#Kesari benchmarks... Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 3 ₹ 75 cr: Day 4 ₹ 100 cr: Day 7 Emerges highest *Week 1* grosser of 2019 [so far], followed by #GullyBoy [₹ 100.30 cr; 8 days] and #TotalDhamaal [₹ 94.55 cr; 7 days]. India biz," Adarsh said. Kesari is expected to dominate the box office over the weekend as well with no big releases this week.

Meanwhile, another recent release Badla too continues to do well at the box office and has nearly collected Rs 85 crore so far.

"#Badla stands tall, despite a big opponent [#Kesari]... Should cross ₹ 85 cr, with an outside chance of crossing ₹ 90 cr... [Week 3] Fri 2.07 cr, Sat 2.65 cr, Sun 2.75 cr, Mon 1 cr, Tue 90 lakhs, Wed 90 lakhs, Thu 85 lakhs. Total: ₹ 78.44 cr. India biz," Adarsh said, in another tweet.
