Karnataka Unlock Guidelines: Lockdown in Karnataka's Dakshin Kannada district has been extended till July 5, 2021. However, the Karnataka government on Saturday announced the relaxation in lockdown in 16 districts out of 30, including Bengaluru Urban. The districts where relaxations have been decided, have recorded less than five per cent COVID-19 positivity rate.

News agency ANI tweeted that the lockdown has been extended in Dakshin Kannada district till July 5, 2021. In that district the shops for essential commodities have been allowed to open from 7 AM to 1 PM. The tweet said, "Karnataka: Lockdown extended in Dakshina Kannada district till July 5, with some relaxation. Essential commodities shops are permitted to open from 7 am to 1 pm in the district."

 

According to a report by IANS, after a meeting of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa with his cabinet, bureaucrats and health experts in his official residence, the decision of partial relaxation of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in 16 districts from June 21, 2021, to July 5, 2021, was announced. However, it was also announced that the state-wide night curfew would continue from 7 PM to 5 AM and weekend curfew will remain in place 7 PM on Friday to 5 AM on Monday.

The Karnataka Chief Minister said, "Two-week partial relaxations like opening up shops till 5 PM will be applicable in 16 districts like Bengaluru, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Mandya, Koppal, Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Kolar, Gadag, Raichur, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Haveri, Ramanagara, Yadgir and Bidar, where case positivity rate has come down below five per cent."
 
As per the announcements of the Karnataka CM, following is a list of the things that are allowed and not allowed:

1) Educational institutions, religious places, shopping malls, theatres, pubs and amusement parks are still not allowed to open yet

2) Hotels may open till 5 PM for dine-in with 50 per cent occupancy

3) Outdoor film shooting, sports without spectators will be allowed

4) Public transportation like buses and the metro are allowed to operate with 50 per cent capacity

5) Lodges, resorts, gyms are also allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity

It has also to be noted that in the 13 districts where the positivity rate is between 5 and 10 per cent, the guidelines mentioned in the order issued on June 11, 2021 will remain effective.
