Kannur International Airport (KIAL), which started operating after its recent inauguration on December 9, 2018, will see GoAir flying from there now. As per GoAir, it will connect Kannur to Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Commuting from Kannur to Bengaluru and vice-versa will cost Rs 1,415. Kannur in Kerala, is GoAir's 24th domestic destination. Kannur-Bengaluru will be an everyday flight whereas fights to Hyderabad and Chennai will be on pre-decided days. The first GoAir flight took off for Hyderabad and Bengaluru from the Kannur airport.

"Immensely proud to announce that with Kannur, GoAir is now 24 cities strong in India! Our first ever flight from Kannur takes off on the 9th of December 2018. The GoAir flight on the route from Bengaluru to Kannur will run every day from December 15, 2018. The same amount of Rs 1,415 will also be available for other flights on the same route on  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, laid the cornerstone of The Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL). He had said that the airport will change the state's outlook with all towns within four hours of drive from an international airport.
